The Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130 is committed to increasing accessibility to potable water. The Residential Cistern Installation Incentive policy is intended to reduce the barriers to potable water access in the Whitemud area. The Residential Cistern Installation Incentive applies solely to households within the Whitemud area. The Municipal District of Smoky River will pay for one-third (33%) of costs incurred through the installation of a new and approved household cistern system, to a maximum grantable limit of $6,000, payable upon the completion of an approved project. This program will only be available for three years (2019-2021).
