Fire Permits
Due to dry weather conditions, permits are required beginning March
1, 2001. It is imperative that you contact the M.D. Office @
837-2221 or the Fire Hall @ 837-2455 before you burn!
You may be in a permit zone. Burning without a fire permit is illegal
and charges may be laid. If you are in a free burn area, you are
still responsible for your fire and any damages that it may cause.

Intensive Livestock Operations
As you are probably well aware, development of new intensive livestock
operations regardless of size is a sensitive issue throughout the
Province. ILO's can include hog barns, dairy barns, chickens, turkeys,
etc.
Some of the determining factors of an ILO are the number of animals,
manure management, and ability to fit in with surrounding land uses.
It is recommended that anyone wishing to develop any livestock
operation contact our office at 837-2221 to determine whether or
not a development permit is required.
